Your 'move-up' custom home renovation will generally fall into the following price ranges (note - the price ranges can fall much higher than the prices shown here for high-end luxury homes)

Remodel (upgrade existing sqf)
$120–$220 (full kitchen/bath remodels, structural tweaks, energy upgrades)
New Build (Construction Only)
$180–$280 (better finishes, some customization; semi-custom feel)
The above price ranges include these allowances.
'Allowances' are budgeted dollar amounts set aside in the contract for customizable items that you will select during the build process. These are placeholders based on the builder's estimates for standard options. If you choose higher-end items, you'd pay the difference. If lower, you may get a credit.
